I was very excited and honoured when I was approached with the idea of the LMX (Live Mural eXperience) being featured for the Friday the 13th ride in Port Dover by Harley Davidson. HD was set to unveil their newest bike, the Roadster. They wanted it to appeal to a younger urban demographic. This would be the direction I would need to take in creating the concept for the look of the activation.
The plan was HD would unveil the Roadster in unison with the the mural at high noon. I was to complete the bike before hand and then cover it up to be set for the unveiling.
With a great set up by Harley Davidson on Main st., Port Dover, right in the thick of things, I was ready to paint! Police estimated some 140,000 bike enthusiast would be in attendance, we were sure to create some great interest in what was soon to debut.
Karen and Bill Davidson (grand kids of HD creator Arthur Davidson) were on hand to assist in unveiling and signing of the Roadster portion of the mural. After the signing, I continued with finishing touches. The painting was part of a raffle as the public had a chance to win this original piece of art.
Overall, this was an incredible LMX, as always great activation with the public and media. I look forward to working once again with the HD team!
